Numeracy and mathematics aims at developing learners’ critical awareness of how mathematical relationships are used in social, environmental, cultural and economic context. At an early stage the learners will be able to count and carry out basic mathematical operations. At a later stage the learners will be able to make inferences using manipulated data and to apply mathematics for solving practical problems in daily life.
